Rochester Chapter Offerings
Twice-Monthly Meetings
Join us at one of our monthly meetings for an evening of fun and grown-up conversation. We usually meet on the 2nd Tuesday at 7:30 pm at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church at 2000 Highland Ave. Our gatherings offer topical discussions, guest speakers, and the chance to laugh and make new friends.
Visitors are welcome and may attend three meetings before joining. Check out our Event Calendar for details about upcoming meetings and other happenings.
We'd love to hear from you. Leave a message for us on our Contact page. Be sure to include your phone number and email address so we can get back to you and answer any questions you might have.

Just for Moms
In-a-Pinch Meals
New baby on the way? A family member in the hospital, or heaven forbid- are you sick? If you're having a tough time- we're here to help out. We'll deliver meals to give you a bit of a break while you get back on your feet.
Mom's Night Out
Sometimes we even get out during the day! This monthly event includes wine tastings, dinners (at restaurants that don't feature clowns or costumed characters!), holiday shopping sprees, game nights and lots more.
Special Interest Clubs
Love to Scrapbook? Read novels? Looking for the chance to chat with other working moms? We offer lots of chances to get together with other moms who share the same interests. Most clubs meet monthly at member homes or local restaurants. Our Clubs include:
-
Craft Club - Come out and learn about new methods and materials, or work on a UFO (unfinished object).
-
ScRAP Club new - Bring your current scrapbooking project to a fun gathering of other scrappers. No experience necessary.
-
Book Club - Join a lively discussion of a pre-selected work of fiction or non-fiction. All are welcome (whether or not you've read the book) ... and a chocolate dessert is almost guaranteed.
-
Seasoned Moms - Explore topics of interest to moms of schoolage children. In addition to our regular member gatherings, we also have a "Mom-Kid" book club.
-
Virtual Water Cooler - Work-from-home moms take a break to chat, gripe, laugh and share tips for keeping both the business and the family going. We're a friendly group that support each other as we attempt to keep our lives in balance.
We're adding more clubs each season, so check back often. Or let us know if you'd like to start a new club.
Activities for parents and kids
Play Groups
Playgroups are a wonderful way for children to make friends and learn important social skills, and they’re also a great way to meet and get to know other Mothers & More members! Each playgroup usually meets once a week for approximately two hours in alternating members’ homes. In the summer, Mothers & More also sponsors a weekly playdate at various area playgrounds.
For those of you who can't always attend an official playgroup- our members can create RAP groups (Randomly Available Playgroups) - set a date and a time (and the number of guests) and you've got instant entertainment for a half-day or holiday break.
Mornings In The Park (summer only)
Do you know which local playground features whale and seal sculptures spraying a constant stream of water to cool the kids on a hot July day? How about the park where you bring along bread to feed the ducks swimming along the canal? Every week from May through September, Mothers & More members, with kids in tow, meet at a different area park playground. Official starting time is 10 a.m. but folks drift in all morning long. Most people pack a picnic and there are always enough blankets for a “group lunch” with some snack and cookie-swapping. It’s good to toss a few sand toys in the back seat too, since many of our destinations have sand for junior construction workers.
Moms & Tots Special Events
These monthly daytime events are a great way to get out and meet other members and their little ones. We've had special tours of the Airport, held egg hunts, and discovered that Chuck E Cheese is so much more bearable with some adult friends.
Family Events
Several times each year we have a picnic or party for members and their families. We also have several Couples' events throughout the year. An occasional Dads Night Out lets those hardworking fathers get to know each other.
Community Service and Advocacy
We offer opportunities for members to participate in community service projects. The Community Service committee identifies issues and organizations of interest and plans projects for the year. Past events include tending the Children's Garden at a child care center, providing first aid material for a safety drive, and providing Mother's Day shopping for children in a local shelter. Each month members and their children visit a local nursing home for a couple of hours of play and cross-generational interaction.
Our chapter also participates in National Mothers & More Advocacy programs to secure economic and social equality for all mothers, promote the value of all the work mothers do, and raise consciousness about existing social, economic and cultural conditions that have an impact on mothers.
